McDowell to miss French Open

GRAEME MCDOWELL has decided to take an extra week to digest his US Open victory and will miss next week’s French Open.

McDowell to miss French Open

The Portrush man’s first competitive appearance since Pebble Beach will now be in the JP McManus pro-am at Adare Manor on July 5/6.

McDowell had entered Paris before his US exploits but everything has been so hectic since that he thought it prudent to rest up ahead of some looming big events.

He moves on from Adare to Loch Lomond to contest the Barclays Scottish Open, prior to the Open Championship at St Andrews. He then takes a week off before contesting the 3 Irish Open at Killarney, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone, Akron, Ohio and the US PGA Championship at Whistling Straits, Kohler, Wisconsin.
