McDowell backing Europe for Ryder Cup glory

GRAEME McDOWELL has backed Europe to win the Ryder Cup in October.

And the newly-crowned Celtic Manor Wales Open champion hopes he can be right in the thick of it after climbing to 10th place on the European Ryder Cup points list.

Irishman McDowell mastered the 2010 Ryder Cup course with his final round 63, claiming a three-shot victory over exciting Welsh prospect Rhys Davies, whose course record 62 included six birdies and two eagles.
