SOMEWHERE in our travels from Thanksgiving to spring in the US, the unprecedented controversy involving Tiger Woods has been turned into a personal crusade by many, as if the golfer’s serious character flaws had directly hurt them.

Nonsense.

People are entitled – dare say, obligated – to be disappointed and to vow not to cheer for Woods. But should they take it personally and wish for ill-will in life and bogeys or worse on the golf course? Sounds a bit excessive, does it not? That is why, if we take anything from this year’s Masters, it’s this: It’s time to move on.
