Lowry learns lessons from American debut

SHANE LOWRY picked up a cool $36,000 for finishing 77th on his American debut but in terms of experience it was a priceless for the Irish Open champion.

The 22-year old Clara native closed with a pair of two over par 72s to finish third last of the 79 finishers on 20 over par.

“I had a decent weekend and overall it was a great week. I really enjoyed it,” Lowry said after rifling a 180 yard seven iron to a few inches for a closing birdie. “It was a nice way to finish but I know my good shots are good enough. It’s my bad shots that need to improve.
