Mickelson’s wife gets good news in battle against breast cancer

PHIL MICKELSON and his wife Amy have been told that her breast cancer has not spread to her lymph nodes.

The world number two, who missed his first British Open since 1993, said on his website that the news “improves our chances of beating this in the short and long term.

“We’re awaiting one test result that will influence Amy’s treatment plan. The waiting and wondering sometimes can be the most difficult part, but she has a very positive attitude and has handled all of this with her usual grace. I’m so proud of her.
