PÁDRAIG HARRINGTON faces a fairly intensive grilling when he visits the US Open media centre this morning for his pre-Championship interview.

Focused Pádraig sticks to his guns

The golf writers always enjoy his press conferences and even though the Irishman is now as close to being in a slump as makes no difference, the interest will be just as intensive as ever. However, a short few words exchanged yesterday with the three-times major champion suggested they are unlikely to get a whole lot new out of Harrington. For sure, he has no intention of apologising for making changes to his swing in the hope of advancing his game to an even higher level.

“The three majors I won came as a result of exactly the same process which has me where I am now,” he says. “I wouldn’t have won them but for stopping and changing things. I’m not worried. I’ve been through it before. I’ll keep working away at it, plugging away. Yeah, you just have to wait it out, be patient, do all the things right and let it happen.
