$1m reasons to play the ultimate par 3

However the spectacular Xtreme 19th at the new Legend Golf and Safari Resort in South Africa is no ordinary one-shotter — for starters, you have to take a helicopter to the tee, which is 830m from the green and is played from a dizzying vertical height of 430 metres.

The hole itself measures 394 yards to a green contoured like a map of Africa. Set high up on the impressive Hanglip Mountain, golfers have the opportunity of playing off one of three tee boxes, high up on the escarpment. With advanced technology in the form of four separate cameras and the latest tracking equipment, the golfer can follow and capture the tee shot and the flight of the ball.
