CORK’S hopes of achieving an historic golfing double were dashed yesterday when they lost to Knock in the most dramatic of circumstances in the semi-final of the Bulmers Irish Senior Cup.

Cork were bidding to become the first club to win both men’s and ladies Senior Cups in the same year.

Two of the five matches went to the 20th hole and each resulted in wins for the Belfast club who go forward to meet Galway in this morning’s final.
