Monty’s Masters hopes flounder

COLIN MONTGOMERIE’S hopes of qualifying for the US Masters all but disappeared on the second day of the Indonesia Open yesterday.

Montgomerie needs to win in Jakarta to be certain of making his 14th consecutive appearance at Augusta next month.

But the former European number one was more in danger of missing the cut than threatening the leaders before a thunderstorm brought an early end to play yesterday.
