Barnes storming in Australia

Scotland’s Craig Lee was some way off the lead while countryman Jack Doherty was left languishing at the wrong end of the leaderboard after the first round of the Hillross Australian Open.

Former Australian amateur champion Kurt Barnes overcame an unsteady start to storm home with an opening round 65 for a two-shot lead over the field with three players tied for second spot.
