Houston wins play-off

Welshman Garry Houston was victorious in a thrilling four-hole sudden-death play-off against England's Gary Emerson to win the European Challenge Tour's Galeria Kaufhof Pokal Challenge event.

Emerson twice holed from six feet to stay alive before, on the fourth extra hole, he found the sand and failed to get up and down.

That handed Houston a tap-in for the title and a cheque for £11,700 (€17,555) which lifted him to third position in the Challenge Tour rankings from where the top 15 players join the European Tour at the end of the season.
