Quadruple bogey finish fails to stop Toms

Paul Casey at the Benson & Hedges International Open at The Belfry and David Toms in the Wachovia Open at Quail Hollow, North Carolina, both came to their final hole with a bundle of shots to spare.

Neither finished it off in particularly distinguished fashion although there was no shame in Casey's bogey five at The Belfry's testing 18th which clinched victory by the handsome margin of four shots. A few hours later, however, we saw what winning a big tournament can do to the most composed of players when Toms did his level best to throw away the massive $1,008,000 first prize at Quail Hollow.
