Morris turns on the style in the West

UNLIKE so many competitors in the West of Ireland Championship at Rosses Point, John “Junior” Morris is an out-and-out amateur golfer.

He works as a consultant radiologist in Mullingar General Hospital and his visits to the local course are confined largely to the weekend.

But Cork-born Morris has always been a natural and he demonstrated the point again yesterday, winning his first two matches at the Point with considerable style.
