THE AIB Irish Seniors Open will return to Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort on June 4-6. The €330,000 event has a reputation on the senior tour as a 'must play'.

England's Carl Mason, who won last year's Order of Merit with record earnings of €350,242 and Scotland's Bill Longmuir, second on last year's list with two victories, are just some of the top names set to make the trip.

Tour rookie Gavan Levenson, who was victorious in only his second European Seniors Tour event, the DGM Barbados Open, has also entered.

Ireland will once again be strongly represented with Christy O'Connor Jnr, who is the Touring Professional for Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort, expected to lead the way with Liam Higgins, Paul Leonard, Denis O'Sullivan, Eddie Polland and Dr Arthur Spring also teeing up.

Billy Andrews, General Manager, AIB Bank said "We are constantly reviewing our golf portfolio. With this in mind we hope to extend this seniors event known as the 'friendly Tour' to a wider audience. We have decided to make the event more appealing to younger golfers and families with junior golf clinics being held on Friday and Saturday and a Family Day on the Bank Holiday Sunday."
