Higgins’ Spanish bid

WATERVILLE’S David Higgins goes into the European Challenge Tour’s Peugeot Challenge at the new Greg Norman designed, Real Club de Golf El Prat in Barcelona today, looking to consolidate his position at the top of the Challenge Tour Rankings.

The Irishman tops the Challenge Tour money list having won €60,139. Victory this week would almost guarantee Higgins a return to the European Tour. Michael Hoey, at eighth, is looking to cement his own place in the top 20.

Higgins and Hoey are joined by fellow Irishman Colm Moriarty at the €115,000 event.
