The British Open qualifying at Sunningdale was thrown into chaos after a thunderstorm delayed the conclusion of the French Open in Paris, leaving many players struggling to make their way back to Britain.

Forty-nine of them are in the field for the 36-hole Open Championship qualifier and with flights being missed because of the hold-up many were left wondering how they were going to get there in time.

Eventually, after they were back playing in late afternoon, it was decided that tee-off times at Sunningdale would be put back two hours, but it still remained to be seen if they all made it by air, train, car or whatever means they could find.
