Harrington set to tee-up at St Margaret's
The World No 8 met Tournament Controller Peader McParland at Sawgrass last weekend, and gave the green light to one of the oldest professional championships in the world.
Harrington will not compete in the new European Tour event in Spain. Sadly, the Spanish tournament takes titleholder Paul McGinley out of the Irish Championship.
Also heading for Spain will be Peter Lawrie, Damian McGrane and, possibly, Gary Murphy.
Murphy's participation at St Margaret's depends on his finish in the Algarve Open this week.
Should the Kilkenny player fail to achieve a very high finish in Portugal, he will head for Seville instead of St Margaret's.
