IT’S celebration time at Kenmare tomorrow as the club rings in a new century of golfing activity.

To mark the occasion, members will march in period costume from the square to the clubhouse at 2pm. Kenmare native Larry McCarthy, the former international from Muskerry, will plant a commemorative tree, followed by the drive-in of the new officers Frank McGonigle, president; Jack Tuohy, captain and Vera Shaw, lady captain.

A Centenary Book will be launched at Easter and other events on the year's programme are: April 29 Kerry Seniors Tournament; May 6 West Munster/Kerry schools U15 open; May 15/18 club outing to Scotland; June 1 open fourball; June 8 Irish Examiner Amm Amm final; June 21 West Munster final Irish Mixed Foursomes; July 12 Kerry Shield; July 14 Irish Schools Championship (West Munster final); July 27 Outing to Dundrum; July/August members' barbecue; August 3/10 revival of open week; Aug 23 Kerry Captains competition; Aug/Sept Billy O'Sullivan Shield semi-finals and final; Sept 5/6 Brothers Classic; Oct 26 Centenary Captains Banquet; Dec 31 New Year's Eve function.
