TIGER WOODS has more than just the difficulty of the revamped Augusta National course to cope with as he continues his preparations for the defence his Masters title.

He must also deal with the fact that his father, Earl, is on his deathbed.

When asked whether he might have to make a quick dash back to the family home in Cypress, California, before the tournament ended, Woods simply replied: “I hope not.”
