McGinley dishes out the plaudits for ‘hero’ Harrington

RYDER CUP hero Paul McGinley took on the role of support act yesterday after arriving at Puerto Vallarta in Mexico for the World Cup, which starts tomorrow.

Asked when he was teeing off for his first practice round on the Jack Nicklaus-designed Vista Vallarta course, McGinley replied: "Whenever the hero gets here."

He was referring to partner Padraig Harrington, conqueror of Tiger Woods and winner of a million dollars in California on Sunday.
