Sorenstam wins ADT Tour Championship

SWEDEN’S Annika Sorenstam clinched her 10th worldwide win of another superb year with a sudden-death play-off win over Cristie Kerr in the ADT Tour Championship at Trump International in Florida.

Sorenstam had led from round one at West Palm Beach - but American Kerr set a tough target of 13-under 275 after a flawless four under 68, the best score of a tough, windy day.

The world number one then had to dig deep to make a birdie at the 16th and shot 69 to send the championship into extra time.

At the first play-off hole, Kerr opened the door by hitting her second shot into water at the par four18th, and Sorenstam could afford to make bogey to claim the £115,000 prize.

It was Sorenstam’s 56th LPGA title.
