THE TWO big Irish hopes, Darren Clarke and Paul McGinley, both missed the cut at the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond yesterday.

Gary Murphy, so promising on Thursday with 68, is also on the way home after a 75. However, Graeme McDowell is just three shots off the pace after a superb 65 for five under.

Damien McGrane, two under, and Peter Lawrie, level par, will also face the starter through the weekend.
