Pro Am opens in Tipperary
The second annual Pro Am will host a distinguished list of high-profile professionals. European Tour Pros Philip Walton and Eamonn Darcy will compete with the top 30 professionals on the Irish Order of Merit. The prize fund has increased to 35,000, making the Pro Am the third biggest on the Irish PGA circuit this year. Amateurs shall battle over the two days for 10 team prizes; teams of three cost 1,300. A new celebrity section has been introduced this year. Teams from the world of sport and entertainment will compete, with familiar names such as Alan Quinlan, Pat Short, Charlie Swan, Tomas Dunne, Bomber Liston, Keith Barr, Tony McCoy, Mick Fitzgerald and Nicky English all taking part.
