It was the second time the event, which is in honour of Arnold Palmer, was played in Ireland.

Yesterday, Ulster senior inter provincial, Gareth Maybin (Ballyclare) played a decisive part in the European win. In the morning fourball partnered by Welsh international Rhys Davies, the Ulster man holed a 10 foot putt on the 18 to beat the American player. In the afternoon singles Maybin beat Chris Stroud also on the last green where he was conceded the hole after being dormie one.
