New challenge for Jimenez

SPAIN'S Miguel Angel Jimenez insists his Johnnie Walker Classic victory will have no bearing on his performance at this week's Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur.

The 40-year-old defied the heat in Bangkok to clinch a two-shot win last month over Denmark's Thomas Bjorn and India's Jyoti Randhawa for his eighth European Tour title.

But instead of building on that momentum, Jimenez returned home to Malaga for a two-week break and felt rusty when he took to the steamy Saujana course yesterday.
