DUBLINER Stephen Browne is hoping his magical 62 in last weekend’s Texbond Open, which he described as “the best round of my professional career” will stand him in good stead for today’s European Challenge Tour’s JJB Sports North West Challenge in Manchester.

Browne, who had legendary Irish caddie David Noble on his bag during his ten under par round at Gardagolf in Italy last Saturday, is delighted to have found his best form coming into a crucial stage of the Challenge Tour season, starting with the £100,000 JJB Sports North West Challenge.

“I had shot a 63 at The European Tour Qualifying School before, but the 62 was the best round of my professional career. It was one of those days where I didn’t even realise I was shooting a really low round.
