Top club manufacturer opens Inniscarra outlet

THE company voted last year’s European golf club makers of the year has just opened its second Irish outlet in Cork.

Kildare-based Fore Golf Technical Centre, who specialise in hand-crafted clubs, opened at the former Village Green driving range in Inniscarra near Ballincollig’s regional park last week.

The company has spent over 200,000 on the revamp , extending the driving range to a 20-bay, 340-yard floodlit facility. A practice putting green is nearing completion.

Swing analysis equipment is being installed and a hand-built club workshop and a club shop are almost complete.

28-year-old golf pro Brian Hurley from Grange Hill, Douglas, is a 25% stakeholder in the company.

Brian graduated with a degree in business management from Kingston University, London and won a British University Golf medal in 1994.

He has worked at some of the world’s top clubs including the K-Club, Luttrelstown, Loch Lomond and in Tampa, Florida.

Fellow director Derek Murray has worked with some of the top players, including Tiger Woods and Jose Maria Olazabal.
