Shake-up in world rankings

ALTHOUGH Tiger Woods and Ernie Els remain unrivalled at the head of affairs, there has been considerable turbulence in the world rankings over the past few weeks.

Having tied for 10th at the recent US Open and been idle since, Ireland’s Padraig Harrington has slipped from seventh to eighth.

However, the biggest loser is Phil Mickelson, the American left-hander, who began 2003 in second spot and has now fallen back to ninth.
