Irish beat Scots in Girls’ Home International series

finished on a high note in the Girls’ Home International series at Strathaven yesterday.

They overcame Scotland 7-2 in their final match for their second triumph of the week and ended with Swansea Spoon as runners-up behind champions England and in front of Wales, all three securing two wins and having to be separated on individual games won.

Once again, Carlow teenager Tara Delaney was in fine form, winning both her matches in style.

Due to the uncertainty of the weather organisers decided to play the singles first and Ireland established a 4-2 advantage and then won all three foursomes.
