Moriarty holds his own with big boys

LIFE on the Challenge Tour has been more than a little frustrating for 25-year-old Colm Moriarty from Athlone.

So it was with more hope than confidence that he accepted an invitation to the Nissan Irish Open Championship at Carton House.

Colin Montgomerie’s course was frightening the life out of the stars so why should Moriarty be any different. However, he quickly grew to like the lay-out, confident in his ball striking and especially his driving - invariably the mainstay of his game.
