Irish disappointment in Thomas Björn Open

Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey and Shinrone’s Justin Kehoe finished in a tie for 51st place as Lanarkshire’s Marc Warren finished the Thomas Björn Open presented by Multidata on a week to forget for the European Challenge Tour’s Irish contingent.

Hoey carded a final round 76, while Kehoe posted 74, both players recording 19 over par 303 aggregate scores to finish 15 shots behind winner Toni Karjalainen of Finland.

He took the title after a final round 75 was good enough to secure a one-shot victory over Sweden’s Oskar Bergman and scoop the top prize of €18,400.
