Tiger and wife out of bounds on yacht

TIGER WOODS and his new wife were briefly held aboard their private yacht on Thursday by US Coast Guard officers and turned away from San Juan's port because they failed to notify authorities of their arrival ahead of time, an official said.

Since July 1, new security regulations require many boats to submit an arrival notice at least four days in advance before entering a US port, said Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Eric Willis.

The 28-year-old golfer and Swedish model Elin Nordegren, 24, were married last week at a luxury resort in Barbados and later set out on the yacht Privacy.

The yacht entered San Juan's port at about noon Thursday and five Coast Guard officers boarded the yacht and escorted it to port, said Willis .

Eight people were on board, and they said they made their last port call in St. Kitts.
