CASTLETROY College will make history this afternoon in Feenagh when they compete for the first time ever in the Dr Harty Cup as they face Kerry Colleges in Group D.

Castletroy set for Harty Cup debut

The Limerick school, only established in 2000, have previously excelled on the rugby stage winning the Munster schools senior and junior cups in 2008.

In recent years they have made progress in hurling and this year opted to enter a team in the Dr Harty Cup. Their team will feature Killian Enright, who came on as a substitute for Ahane in the Limerick senior hurling final recently, and Gearóid Hegarty, son of former senior great Ger and a member of the Limerick minor hurling panel this season. The match is a key game for Kerry Colleges in this three-team group as they suffered a six-point defeat against Nenagh CBS in the opening round.
