It doesn’t get much bigger than this.

Yes, for the hurling fans from Ballincollig and Dungourney, it doesn’t get much bigger than their Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling championship final on Sunday.

But it does get a little bigger. Yes, to be serious for a moment and it really doesn’t get much bigger than St Finbarr’s taking on Glen Rovers in the Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship final.

It’s the first time since 1988 that the two city rivals – one representing the north and the other representing the south – go head-to-head in Leeside’s main hurling decider.

And given that it’s such a huge fixture, we have decided to give it the treatment normally saved for the inter-county action.

So, for your convenience, here is everything you need to know ahead of throw-in.

Where is the game being played?

Páirc Uí Chaoimh on the banks of the Lee is the venue for the game.

What time is throw-in?

Throw-in has been set for 4pm on Sunday, October 18.

Where to watch?

St Finbarr's v Glen Rovers will be broadcast live on Clubber, but you can also follow the best of the action on the Irish Examiner’s new and improved liveblog.

What's on before it?

As mentioned earlier, Ballincollig v Dungourney is also on Sunday in the Premier IHC with throw-in time set for 2pm. That match will also be shown live on Clubber.

How many titles have they won?

Glen Rovers have won the second most Cork Premier Senior hurling titles while St Finbarr's sitting just behind them in third. The Glen have won 27 titles and have been runners-up on 18 occasions while the Barrs have won 26 times and have been runners-up on 15 occasions.

Who’s the referee?

Wayne King (Charleville/Banteer) will be the man in the middle.

Road to the Final

Glen Rovers secured their final place with a 2-21 to 1-18 victory over Midleton in the semi-final. They had also defeated Charleville in the quarter-final, continuing a strong run through the knockout stages.

St Finbarr's advanced after a 1-27 to 1-22 win over Kanturk. Earlier in the knockout stages, they recorded a convincing quarter-final victory over Imokilly.
