St Brendan's Board and Mid Kerry will meet in next week’s Ask Acorn Kerry U21 Football Championship decider after victories in Tuesday night’s semi-finals over Kenmare Shamrocks and South Kerry respectively.

In St Brendan's case, they came from five points down at half-time to Kenmare Shamrocks in Spa, Killarney (2-8 to 1-6), but 1-5 without reply at the start of the second-half turned the match in the divisional side’s favour as they won by 3-19 to 3-10 in the end.

The match saw All-Ireland U20 winning teammates Gearóid White (St Brendan's) and Jack O’Sullivan (Shamrocks) square off as White kicked 0-7 (2tpf, 1f) in victory, but O’Sullivan was dismissed late on in proceedings for a second yellow card.

Zack O’Shea scored 3-1 in defeat on the night for Shamrocks as they lost their key forward Jack Tangney to injury, but Odhran Ferris (2-2) and Darragh Cunnane (1-2) were the goalscorers.

In Killorglin, Mid Kerry followed up their win over defending champions Austin Stacks in the quarter-finals with a 3-11 to 1-15 win over South Kerry.

Mid Kerry had led by 2-6 to 0-7 at half-time, but South Kerry’s goal came right at the start of the second-half through Oisin Breen.

Mid Kerry maintained control of the scoreboard throughout, however, as their three goalscorers on the night were Darragh O’Connor, Paul Costello and Kevin Coffey.

Next week’s decider will be Mid Kerry’s first appearance in an U21 final since 2017, as Liam Evans put in a very impressive display for the victors on the night.
