Kerry County Board chairman Patrick O’Sullivan informed delegates at Tuesday night’s county committee meeting that he was unable to comment on the reported findings of the CCCC following Saturday's ill-tempered match between the Kingdom and Donegal.

“We were defeated by Donegal last weekend and as ye know there is a lot of talk about proposed penalties and fines being discussed in the media today," said O'Sullivan.

"We will not be able to comment on it tonight because they are proposals and we have to await the official correspondence which we have yet to receive before we make any comments on the findings.

"But as far as we are concerned the matter is finished, it has been dealt with and Kerry will be moving on.”

Terence Houlihan, chairman of the Kerry CCC revealed that the champions Abbeydorney will open this year’s senior hurling championship when they face Tralee Parnells on Friday June 19th.

The other two ties, Lixnaw v St Brendan’s and Causeway v Kilmoyley, will either be played on Saturday 20th or Sunday 21st as Kerry may be involved in an All-Ireland SFC roun 3 game on the same weekend. The SHC games will be played on the day that the footballers are not in action.

The senior hurling league final between Crotta O’Neills and Lixnaw has been fixed for Friday night June 5th at Austin Stack Park at 7.30pm.

The Kerry U21 Football Championship has been put back a few weeks because of Kerry’s involvement in the All-Ireland U-20 Final on Saturday, and exams in early June. Fixtures in competition were previously played on Thursday nights but have been shifted to Tuesday nights. The competition starts on Tuesday evening June 23rd at 7.30pm.

Houlihan also reminded clubs of a change in the rules for determining promotion and relegation that had been discussed and passed at the January meeting on competitions but it does not appear that it has registered with team managers and players.

“I have received a few phone calls about play-offs, but there are no play offs this year," said Houlihan.

"Rules and Regulations have gone out earlier in the year but some ignored them. But some divisions are very tight and looking at Division 2 for example, Laune Rangers have 14 and then there are three points between the other 11 teams. So you need to know the score and your manager need to be made aware that they are no playoffs. I will email out the regulations again over the next couple of days."

This is how promotion and relegation will be decided in the county league if teams are level on points.

Division Winners: In the event of teams finishing level on points, the team with most fixtures fulfilled will be deemed league winners.

Promotion: In the event of teams finishing level on points, the team with most fixtures fulfilled will be promoted.

Relegation: In the event of teams finishing level on points, the team with least fixtures fulfilled will be relegated.

Where teams finish with the same number of points having played same number of fixtures, the final placing regarding promotion, relegation and divisional winners will be decided as follows:

(a) Two teams finish level on points: The result between them on the head to head will decide who is promoted or survives. If their meeting ended in a draw, then it is determined on goals for between the two teams when they met, followed by scoring difference in the entire league, followed by total scores for in all league games.

(b) Where more than two teams finish level on points: The higher number of league points obtained in the head-to-head games. II. The higher Scoring Difference in the head-to-head games. III. The higher Scores For in the head-to-head games. IV. The higher goals scored in the head-to-head games. V. Score difference for all league games. VI. Total scores for in all league games. VII. Playoff
