There is an extremely fresh look to Marc Ó Sé’s Kerry minor football squad announced Monday, with only three members of the match-day squad that lost to Tyrone in last year’s All-Ireland final still underage in 2026.

The team will be captained by Danny Murphy, who was an indefatigable presence at wing-back throughout all of last season. The Listry defender will, unquestionably, be a key figure this season.

The only other starter from the defeat to the Red Hand youngsters is midfielder Maidhc Ó Sé. Also a hugely promising rugby player, the An Ghaeltacht powerhouse will be expected to provide leadership from the centre of the park.

Sean Sargent, a brother of last year’s centre-back David, was sub-goalkeeper behind Ruairí Kennedy last season, and his experience of being involved in 2025 should be an aid to the defence that lines out in front of him.

The St Brendan’s Killarney side that captured another Frewen Cup is well represented, with seven players involved – Conor Clifford, Cian Stack, Conor Lynch, Samuel Scroope, Daragh Keane, Daniel Cronin and Cillian O’Donoghue.

Keane, a son of Kerry County Board assistant treasurer Tom, and nephew of former Kerry boss Peter, and current Cork U-20 manager Ray, is a prodigious attacking talent, who hit 2-3 in that Frewen Cup final victory over Clonakilty CS.

Two other names to keep a close eye on are the North Kerry attacking duo of Michael Somers and Odhran Buckley. The former, from St Senan’s, is a confident score-taker, as is the latter from the Beale club.

Kerry MFC panel: Cathal Corduff (Gaeltacht), C O’Donnell (Tarbert), C Stack (Kilcummin), C Moynihan (Rathmore), C O’Donoghue(Listry), C Clifford (Dr Crokes), C Lynch (Dr Crokes), Cuán Ó Fiannachta (Gaeltacht), D Laide (Finuge), D Cronin (Firies), D Lane (Austin Stacks), D Kingston (Na Gaeil), D Murphy, capt (Listry), D Keane (Kilcummin), D McMahon (Ballymacelligott), E Mangan (Austin Stacks), Fionn O’Dowd (Dingle), Jack Collins (Ballymacelligott), J Ziober (Milltown/Castlemaine), J Breen (Listowel Emmets), K Fitzgerald (Listry), L MacGearailt (Gaeltacht), Maidhc Ó Sé (Gaeltacht), M Somers(St Senans), M Corridon (Ardfert), Noel O’Neill (Templenoe), O Buckley (Beale), P O’Sullivan (Firies), S Scroope (Legion), S Clifford (Listry), S Sargent (John Mitchels), T Kennelly (Listowel Emmets), T Lenihan (Churchill), T Slattery (Na Gaeil)
