Charleville toppled Glen Rovers by six points at the Glen Field on Sunday to climb joint-top of the RedFM Division 1 Hurling League table, as Cathal O’Carroll finished with 1-2 for Dominic Foley’s side. O’Carroll’s goal – assisted by Jack Callaghan – arrived in the 35th minute to ensure victory after the north Cork men led 0-16 to 0-8 at the interval.

The Glen welcomed back Cork senior Micheál Mullins but were again without Patrick Horgan. Stephen Lynam carried the scoring burden for the northsiders with 1-7 (0-5 f, 0-1 65), while Conor McCarthy and Luke Horgan contributed 0-2 apiece. For Charleville, Tim Hawe, Conor Buckley and David O'Riordan each registered 0-5, Hawe's haul entirely from play.

Elsewhere, Midleton defeated St Finbarr’s 1-24 to 3-17, Brion Saunderson the hero as he bagged a late goal from a free to steal a one-point win. The Magpies had held the upper hand for large stretches, but the Barrs seized the initiative when David Murray's goal made it 2-14 to 0-19 in the 53rd minute.
Cian Stack briefly restored Midleton's advantage before Jack Cahalane rifled home his second to nudge the Barrs back in front, only for Saunderson to deliver that 63rd-minute rescue act.
Tadhg O’Leary-Hayes was excellent in defence for Midleton who were without Conor Lehane, while Killian McDermott finished with 0-4 from play. Cork panellist Ben Cunningham hit 0-6 (0-5 frees) while brother Sam finished with 1-1, as Damien Cahalane impressed for the Barrs.
Douglas sit joint-top with Charleville as they condemned Carrigtwohill to another defeat, enjoying the presence of Cork senior Shane Kingston as they finished 4-17 to 1-22 winners. Kingston finished with 1-3 from play, while Mark O’Brien top scored with 1-7 (0-2 frees). Chris O’Keeffe bagged the other two green flags. Charlie Lucas scored 0-3, while they were without Alan Cadogan.
It was Seán Walsh who led the way for Carrig with 1-11 (0-4 from play). Younger brother Patrick Walsh finished with 0-4, while Justin Oke impressed and scored 0-2. Jay Horgan and Cian O’Riordan both shone for the east Cork side, but wasteful finishing ultimately led to the east Cork side's undoing.
At Aghavine it was a shaky win for Blackrock, 2-22 to 1-20 over Fr O’Neill’s. Despite racking up 1-16 in the opening half to lead by eight, the Rockies faltered badly on the resumption and allowed Fr O'Neill's to claw their way back into contention. The hosts got as close as one point, Kevin O’Sullivan scoring two of his five from play after Ronan Lowney’s goal, leaving it 1-18 to 1-19 after 51 minutes.
But, the Rockies came good when it mattered. A decisive, late 1-2 burst, the goal from Robbie Cotter following Ciaran Cormack's pass, sealed a five-point victory. Michael O'Halloran was outstanding with 0-6, Niall Cashman clipped 0-4 from centre-back, and PJ Lenihan added 0-3. Bizarrely, the entirety of their 2-22 came from play.
Sarsfields comfortably saw off Killeagh at home to win 2-19 to 0-12, after leading 1-13 to 0-3 at the half-time break. Only 0-4 of Killeagh’s tally came from play.
Luke Hackett and Shane O’Regan got the Sars goals, while Colm McCarthy hit 0-4, Cian Darcy 0-3, while Jack O’Connor scored 0-2 for Sars. Andy Leahy led the way for Killeagh with 0-9 (0-1 from play).
In Division 2, Newtownshandrum overturned a six-point deficit in the closing stages to snatch a draw with Kanturk. They fired two goals back-to-back with just over five minutes to go, and hit the levelling point right at the end. Jamie Coughlan scored seven frees, while Ronan Geary (1-0), Rob Troy (1-3) and Cork senior Cormac O’Brien (1-2) raised the green flags.
Brian O’Sullivan – another Cork senior to pick up club minutes – top-scored for Kanturk with 0-10 (0-1 from play), while Colin Walsh was on target for 2-2. Daniel O’Connell finished with 0-3.
Chris O'Leary's late free salvaged a draw for Valley Rovers against Ballincollig, 0-20 apiece. O'Leary finished with 0-8 (0-3 from play), rescuing Valleys after they had squandered a four-point cushion late on.
Cian Johnson, Eoin Guinane and Will Hurley were immense at the back for Valleys. Cork senior Brian Keating clipped 0-4 for Ballincollig, Tadhg O'Connell and debutant Kevin O'Leary struck 0-3 each, but goalkeeper James Linehan stole the show, making four saves and a penalty stop to deny O'Leary.
Newcestown collected another victory, overwhelming Ballymartle 0-21 to 0-12. Ciaran O'Donovan was their chief marksman with 0-10 (0-4 from play), Podge Collins struck 0-4 and Eddie Kenneally 0-3.
Na Piarsaigh fell to a second Division 2 defeat, this one by a point against reigning SAHC champions Bride Rovers, 0-19 to 1-15, while on Friday evening, Carrigaline were beaten at home by Erin’s Own, 0-12 to 2-21.
Éire Óg surged to the top of Division 3 on scoring difference after demolishing Lisgoold in Ovens, 2-28 to 1-18. Blarney overturned a four-point deficit to beat Ballinhassig by four, 1-23 to 2-16. Simon O’Neill got 2-2 for Hassig while Charlie Grainger finished with 0-4.
Inniscarra defeated Fermoy by two, 1-19 to 1-17, and were made work hard for it late in the second half. Bandon condemned Castlelyons to another defeat, winning 3-19 to 0-22 at home.
In Division 4, Watergrasshill beat Aghabullogue 1-18 to 0-14 to go top of the table, with Bishopstown’s 0-21 to 1-18 draw against Kildorrery ensuring the Town are second in the table after two rounds.
