Gaelic football observations: Moranball raises Mayo ceiling, Armagh doing so much right

The great conundrum of Gaelic football’s new rules is our limited understanding of how they relate to each other. In isolation, we could judge the impact of each measure, but they did not arrive in isolation. This was not a flick of a switch; they mashed the buttons.

Would teams have still pressed kickouts with the introduction of the three-up and without the 40m arc? How would teams attack if the two-pointer wasn’t in place? The Football Review Committee did mix and match various combinations during their sandbox games, but the true impact is difficult to isolate.
