Liam Cahill has included 10 of his All-Ireland SHC winning starters for Saturday evening’s Division 1A opener against Galway in FBD Semple Stadium (7pm throw-in).
Seamus Kennedy and Oisín O’Donoghue, who came on in the win over Cork, are included to start alongside 2024 All-Ireland winning captain Cathal O’Reilly, Joe Caesar and Jack Leamy.
Another All-Ireland final starter, Jason Forde, is named on the bench along with Darragh Stakelum who replaced his brother Conor last July.
Meanwhile, Theo Clancy could miss the entirety of Dublin’s Division 1 NFL campaign with a serious leg injury. The Kilmacud Crokes defender is understood to have hurt himself while on a recent training camp in Cork and is not included in the panel to face Donegal in Croke Park on Saturday.
Clancy, who was a late substitute in last year’s All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Tyrone, did not feature for UCD in their Sigerson Cup win over Maynooth University on Tuesday.
Ger Brennan includes seven of the Dublin side that began last year’s All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Tyrone. Con O’Callaghan and Tom Lahiff, used substitutes on that occasion, are also named to start against Donegal.
Elsewhere, John Maher (Salthill-Knocknacarra) has been named Galway’s senior football captain for 2026. The 2024 All-Star midfielder takes over from Seán Kelly who had led the county for the past four seasons. Corofin’s Dylan McHugh has been announced as vice-captain. Paul Conroy deputised last season.
