Darren Hughes, Monaghan’s longest-serving footballer, has retired from the inter-county game at the age of 38.

The versatile Scotstown man won two Ulster SFC medals (2013 and ’15), three lower level league titles and represented Ireland in four International Rules series in a 20-season career that began in 2006.
