Limerick football centre-back Iain Corbett has retired from the inter-county scene.
Corbett’s Sunday evening announcement brings the curtain down on a Limerick career that ran for 14 seasons.
The Newcastle West clubman made his inter-county championship debut back in 2012, going on to win Division 4 League honours in 2013, 2020, and 2025.
His All-Star nomination for the middle of those three League-winning campaigns was a first Limerick football All-Star nomination in 10 years.
Corbett, during his fine service in green, lined out at centre-back for the 2022 Munster final defeat to Kerry, and was still in retention of that central position for this July’s Tailteann Cup final defeat to Kildare. He also served as Limerick captain in recent campaigns.
