PSFC Group 1, Mallow v Newcestown, Macroom, 7.30pm

Mallow pushed back-to-back champions, Castlehaven, all the way in Round 1 with Shane Merritt and Michael O’Rourke prominent. Newcestown got off to a winning start and will see this as their chance to ensure qualification. In David Buckley, they have the bit of class that could be the difference.

Verdict: Newcestown

PSFC Group 3, Nemo Rangers v Douglas, Páirc Uí Rinn, 7.30pm

The return to form of Conor Russell has been a major fillip for Douglas, as has the return to fitness of the talented Sean Coakley. They kicked 0-11 of Douglas’s 1-12 in their opening round win over St Michael’s. Nemo, however, is a different test. Mark Cronin has been sublime, Colin Molloy rock solid and Bryan Hayes has an eye for goal.

Verdict: Nemo Rangers

SAFC Group 2, Fermoy v Cill na Martra, Ovens, 7.30pm

Fermoy bounced back from an opening round loss in the hurling last week against the odds and will be looking to do the same here. Cill na Martra, however, need a win just as badly after an opening round draw with Knocknagree. The likes of Ciarán Ó Duinnín and Sean Ó Forréidh should get them the win they need.

Verdict: Cill na Martra
