Cork’s pursuit of three-in-a-row All-Ireland titles was one motivational factor that drove Galway on to victory. The Tribeswomen were able to use it to their advantage, and it was very clear from listening to the players and manager Cathal Murray in the aftermath of their sensational one-point victory, how it had built them serious momentum.

Not the sole reason mind you, but a contributing factor.
