On the day after Kilkenny beat Galway in the opening round of the Leinster round robin in April, Donie Mackessy, brother of Fionán, appeared on Community Radio Kilkenny City (CRKC) to speak about what life has been like for Fionán, and the Mackessy family, since the Kerry native swapped life in Kerry for Kilkenny.

Donie was on a high after his brother had scored 0-4 on his Leinster championship debut.
