Reigning hurler of the year Shane O’Donnell has returned to the Clare matchday panel for Saturday’s defining clash with Tipperary, putting him in line for first involvement since last July’s All-Ireland final win.

Manager Brian Lohan had earlier this year ruled O’Donnell out of the 2025 inter-county season because of a shoulder injury, with O’Donnell then contradicting that stance a couple of weeks later by confirming that he’s hopeful of playing some part in this year’s championship.

Tony Kelly returns to the half-forward line having missed the Waterford defeat two weeks ago because of illness. He is one of two changes from that game. The other is Sean Rynne being drafted in at midfield for his first involvement in this championship.

Losing out are David Fitzgerald and Aidan McCarthy, the latter not named among the subs. Also absent from the bench are Conor Cleary and Diarmuid Ryan.

Clare (Munster SHC v Tipperary): E Quilligan; A Hogan, Darragh Lohan, C Leen; C Galvin, J Conlon, D McInerney; S Rynne, C Malone; T Kelly, M Rodgers, S Meehan; R Taylor, P Duggan, D Reidy.

Subs: E Foudy, Daithi Lohan, Ross Hayes, R Hayes, P Donnellan, A Shanagher, D Fitzgerald, J O’Neill, I Galvin, S O’Donnell, S Woods.
