For Tyrone boss Malachy O’Rourke, it was a cruel way to let it slip. Shane Walsh nailed a two-point free to snatch a draw after they were penalised for not keeping three forwards up in Tuam Stadium.

Galway’s star forward had already converted a penalty in the second half. Peter Teague was shown a black card for that foul and when he returned to the pitch, Tyrone failed to react and keep three forwards up.
