Galway chairman Paul Bellew has countered GAA director general Tom Ryan’s claim that extending the inter-county season “would be no bad thing”.

While Ryan has spoken about the organisation’s need to forge a tradition of summer All-Ireland finals, in his annual report earlier this month he indicated support for the championships concluding in August.
