Coming so close to toppling St Thomas’ in the final two years ago, there was added poignancy about this win for Kelly in his third year as manager

As the greatest days in his life go, an ebullient Loughrea manager Tommy Kelly put this victory right up there.

“This is unbelievable,” he declared. “It's nearly like becoming a father for the first time. You're full of emotion, you're full of joy, and now once you've it done you don't really know what to do.
