How tax compliant is the GAA? County boards drawing attention of Revenue Commissioners

Eleven months ago, an entry in the Mayo County Board’s 2023 financial accounts came to national attention in the GAA.
Under the “PAYE and related charges”, it was noted that €119,778 had been paid to the Revenue Commissioners. Described as “a live case” and “extremely sensitive” by treasurer Valerie Murphy, she explained it related to a tax issue regarding payments of Cúl Camp coaches.
